ANNOUNCEMENT OF TRAINING DIRECTOR POSITION


To whom it may concern:


The Colorado Springs Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) is accepting applications for the position of Training Director. Please find a general description of this position below. The Primary duties and responsibilities of the Training Director include but are not limited to:
•The day-to-day administration and operation of the J.A.T.C. (Joint Apprenticeship Training Center)
•Selection and management of office staff and instructors.
•Maintaining the records of applicants, apprentices, and Journeyman within the Training Program.
•Maintaining and managing the finances and financial records of the J.A.T.C. and the training trust as well as presenting budgets for approval to the J.A.T.C. Committee.
•Proactively seek out and apply for grant opportunities to enhance the Training Center and support participant development.
•Recruit applicants through community outreach (i.e., career fairs, high school counselors, etc.)
•Professional development: Attending training conferences and educational seminars related to the duties of the Training Director.
•May be required to sit on local Work Force Boards
•Maintaining the training center’s facility, tools, and supplies.
•Provide Apprentices with On-the-Job Training
•Providing Apprentices and Journeyman with classroom training.
•Collaborate closely with the J.A.T.C. staff, committee, State Apprenticeship Agency, State Licensing Board (DORA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 113 as well as the National Electrical Contractors Association (N.E.C.A.) Southern Colorado Chapter.


Requirements:
•Must be able to obtain a Colorado Master Electrician License.
•Valid Colorado Drivers License
•Must be willing to submit and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
•Must be able to submit V.A. paperwork.

Desired qualifications
Education/Training
•Post secondary education administration, business administration, human resources, or related experience.
Experience/Knowledge
•Administrative experience in education
•Program coordination, administration, or management
•Curriculum development and academic administration
•Familiar with Student Based Learning Programs (CML)
•Educational government regulations
•Accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices.

Skills/Abilities
•Organizational and time management
•Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and appropriately in written and verbal form.
•Ability to handle and maintain confidential communications and material.
•Proficient use of email, word processing, spreadsheet database and presentation software
•Be able to electronically access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
•Leadership Skills
